A small agent.
A public experiment.

Research, decisions, and results.
All in one place.

The idea

THESI404 is an AI trading-agent project with a public record. Its focus is the companies building the future, alongside a small set of crypto and commodity markets.

The agent’s job is to turn evidence into a testable thesis, decide whether a trade is justified, and return to that decision after the outcome. A decision to stay out belongs in the record too.

The terminal shows market prices, positions, fills and trading results. Our public journal lives on X. Trading capital is provided by the THESI404 team.

02 / THE UNIVERSE

Stocks. Three coins. Real-world markets.

The selector follows active stock-linked perpetuals on Hyperliquid’s XYZ venue, plus BTC, ETH, SOL and selected commodity perpetuals. The stock list is checked against XYZ’s instrument specifications and Hyperliquid’s active metadata. It excludes delisted markets, ETFs, unverified stock instruments, other crypto, FX and broad market indices. Each listed instrument must have a reported leverage cap above 1×.

NVIDIAMicrosoftTesla

Stocks

Individual company exposure through XYZ perpetual markets.

BitcoinEthereumSolana

Crypto

BTC, ETH and SOL only.

GoldSilverCrude oil

Commodities

Gold, silver, oil, natural gas, copper, platinum and palladium.

These instruments are perpetual derivatives. A stock-linked position tracks exposure to the underlying price; it does not grant company shares or shareholder rights. The selector shows the reported maximum leverage for each instrument. This is a venue cap; the permitted leverage for an order also depends on position size and the applicable margin tier. An active listing does not guarantee a new position can be opened: venue restrictions and open-interest caps can still apply.

03 / THE NOTEBOOK

Make the reasoning reviewable.

The public notebook is designed for concise research summaries and decision records. Each published thesis should answer four questions:

  1. What changed?

The event, observation, or market condition being investigated, with dated sources.

  2. What is the thesis?

The proposed relationship between that evidence and the market, including uncertainty and an alternative explanation.

  3. What is the decision?

Trade or pass, the intended exposure, and the conditions that would invalidate the idea.

  4. What happened?

The result, costs, and what the agent should reconsider next time.

These are published summaries of evidence and decisions. Market selection only changes the chart; it does not manufacture a thesis or place a trade.

04 / THE CAPITAL

Team-funded trading.

The THESI404 team provides trading capital and covers operating costs. Account deposits are separate from trading results.

Use the terminal’s Verify account link to inspect the public Hyperliquid account and its transaction history.

05 / THE SCORECARD

Deposits are not trading gains.

A larger account can mean new funding, a trading gain, or both. The terminal keeps those measures separate.

Account equity
The total account value at the reporting time, including open-position value as reported by the account source.
Trading P&L
Realized and unrealized trading results, with the treatment of fees and funding stated alongside the ledger.
Net deposits
External capital added to the account minus capital withdrawn.
Open exposure
The notional value of open positions, distinct from collateral and account equity.

Open positions should show instrument, direction, size, entry, current mark and unrealized P&L. Closed trades should retain their fills, costs and timestamps so their results can be checked.

The main chart shows the selected market’s price history. It is not the agent’s equity curve. Blank account fields mean there is no connected account record to display.

06 / THE BOUNDARIES

Rules outside the model.

The execution design should enforce its limits independently of the model’s written instructions. A plausible thesis is not enough to authorize an order.

  • Allow only explicitly approved instruments.
  • Validate position size, available collateral and maximum leverage.
  • Enforce loss, exposure and concentration limits before orders are sent.
  • Reject stale inputs and duplicate order requests.
  • Keep an operator-controlled stop and a record of every order response.

The configured leverage cap is 5×, with no daily loss limit. The interpretation of the 10% position-sizing rule is awaiting confirmation. Proposals are checked against current market data and account margin before review.

07 / UNDER THE SURFACE

What the screen is showing.

Quotes, 24-hour change, volume, funding and candles are read from Hyperliquid’s public API. The terminal uses native-market metadata for BTC, ETH and SOL, and XYZ metadata for its stock and commodity list.

Refresh
The backend refreshes quotes about every 30 seconds. The page refreshes about once per minute, and a configured watchlist collects candles every five minutes.
Initial quotes
The backend caches market data with a source timestamp. If the upstream request fails, the last stored data is marked stale. The footer reports the quote time.
Chart ranges
1D uses 15-minute candles; 1W uses hourly candles; 1M uses four-hour candles. The line plots candle closing prices.
Account records
Positions and fills come from the configured Hyperliquid account. Equity and exposure show the selected venue; venue balances are not added together. Realized P&L covers the displayed collection period, with USDC fees and funding, and excludes deposits. Incomplete history stays blank.

The backend stores candle history and reads public Hyperliquid data. Price action shows calculations from closed candles: moving-average direction, RSI, ATR, relative volume and recent range. The public journal is on X. Positions and fills link to the public account and execution records.

08 / QUICK REFERENCE

A few useful terms.

Perpetual
A derivative without a scheduled expiry, with funding payments that help align its price with a reference market.
Mark price
The venue’s valuation price for the contract. It can differ from the most recent trade and the chart’s candle close.
Funding
A periodic payment between long and short positions. The terminal displays the reported hourly rate.
Long / short
A long benefits from a price increase; a short benefits from a decrease, before costs.
Notional
The market value of the exposure, rather than the collateral posted to support it.
Invalidation
A condition that means the original thesis no longer holds and needs review.
